Passed away on April 10, 2004 at the age of 14.

Jennifer is a straight A Honor Roll student who at the age of 14, was diagnosed with an anaplastic astrocytoma on March 4, 2004.  We went to Duke University Hospital for treatment, where she had surgery to insert a shunt and do a biopsy. We started radiation treatment on March 30 and she lapsed into a coma after the 3rd treatment. We moved her to a hospice in Winston Salem and she died 6 days later on April 10, 2004. She was sick for a total of 34 days. God was gracious to us and put her to sleep the last 6 days of her life, to protect her and me from the horrible effects the tumor had on her body. She died in my arms, I watched her draw her last breath. My life was changed forever in that moment. Nothing will ever be the same. I feel priviledged to have been there at the moment of her death and to have expereinced the angels doing their part to take her home.
